What Open Play Is
Open Play is a drop-in weekly game night, not a class. Bring your NMJL card, pull up a chair, and play real games with other Portland Mahjong players. It's the place regulars come back to week after week, and where new players who've finished Mahjong 101 come to start building real table experience.
Every table is different depending on who shows up, which is part of the fun. Some weeks you'll play with total beginners, other weeks with players who've been at it for years.
Who Should Come
- Graduates of Mahjong 101 or Discovery Mahjong, ready to play regularly
- Experienced players new to Portland looking for a group
- Anyone who already knows American Mahjong and wants a reliable weekly table
New to the game entirely? Start with Mahjong 101 first, so you walk in ready to play.
Where It's Held
Open Play meets weekly at Eastmoreland Golf Course Bar & Grill, serving the Sellwood, Eastmoreland, and greater SE Portland community. Come hungry, order food or a drink, and settle in for a few hands.
